Home for the Holidays - 07 December 2013

We celebrate the Holidays with our annual holiday party upstate in a private home. The client is so generous to us and all the guests -- catering, full bar, and a string quartet providing live music! Wish we had a friend like that! We played a collection of holiday and Christmas favorites - classical and pop - along with some new pop pieces. SeraSymphony - 16 November 2013

In November, we participated in iconiQ The Soundtrack Orchestra's tribute SeraSymphony: The 20th Anniversary Orchestral Fan Tribute to Takanori Arisawa's Sailormoon soundtrack. A 22-piece orchestra performs and medley of cues from the 1993 groundbreaking Japanese animation series in a 5-movement dedication. Each week - starting on December 20 - we released a new movement in anticipation of the new Sailormoon series to be simulcast in January. The response has been great so far -- thousands have viewed our clips and encourage use every week. Perhaps there should be a live concert in the future? Check-out a preview:

Harbor in East Hampton - 19 October 2013

Taking the trafficky trip out East all the to the gorgeous banks of East Hampton, Long Island for a port side ceremony. The couple were big fans of The Beatles so they selected a The Beatles-heavy program for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. During the cocktail hour, we were able to try a few new pieces from of 80s rock, pop, and indie favs.

Traveling up north for a full-day of wedding bliss in Obernburg and Glen Spey, NY. We arrived at a quaint church on a country road for a beautiful catholic ceremony. The bride and groom chose a modern mix for the prelude (approved by the church officials) including "Come Away with Me" for the communion. Then we had a small dinner break at a fantastic outdoor pizzeria before making our return to MountainView Manor for a rip-roaring cocktail hour! Now that's the perfect 8-hr shift at work!

True Brooklyn wedding - 07 September 2013

On a stunning Saturday afternoon, we traveled to the Manor?? in Brooklyn for a "true" Brooklyn wedding - intimate, rustic, and a bride in a fashionable baby blue dress! We played both the ceremony and cocktail hours in the quaint bar area (happy hour all the time!) that had streaks of sunlight coming through the windows. To offset the more modern locale, the couple choose a regal collection of classical pieces and Beatles hits. Very fun, very "them", very Brooklyn!

Central Heart in Central park - 10 August 2013

Never been to the Conservatory Garden in Central Park and today was the perfect day to do it! We were greeted by thte stunning green lawn and set-up in the curved trellis as park-goers and guests came in. Surprisingly, there was a second wedding happening at the same time in the other garden area! What a coincidence! The couple chose a great classical set for the prelude and processional.

Perfect summer wedding on the green - 27 July 2013

Let's get lost in the woods - 20 July 2013

Wedding #2 of the weekend ... and it was in a beautiful upstate location in a pretty little town called Boiceville. Think of a mountain lodge with gorgeous views of rolling hills and the clear, blue sky! The perfect location for a wedding. The couple selected serene and refined "summer" classical music for the prelude and rock and indie pop tunes for their outdoor cocktail hour! The bridal party even entered from a natural rocky stairway which gave the impression they were nymphs emerging right out of mythology!

A well-known tradition - 19 July 2013

First wedding of the weekend! W00t! We take a nice, trafficky trip toward the Hamptons and stop at this quaint catholic church tucked in Wading River. With a stellar interior and wonderful acoustics, it was a prime venue for a wedding. In accordance with the church's regulations, we performed a classical and religious set of reverent and reflective pieces. Very nice to get get our hands over some classic works again!

Return to the Palace - 06 July 2013

Back again at The Palace -- this time in one of the grand ballrooms. Packed from wall-to-wall, we entertained the guests with the couple's choice of operatic loves and some traditional Persian pieces. The ceremony was a mixture of Japanese and Persian traditions so it was great to be a part of the culture enrichment. Wish we could've stayed for the cocktail hour (the food looked great!).

Celebrating marriage equality in LI - 29 June 2013

Just a few days ago, our country finally did away with DOMA and allowed all couples the same federal rates. And on this LGBTQ Pride weekend, we were honored to provide music for a same-sex wedding. The church was packed, the officiant hilarious, and the music moving. Afterwards, the couple invited us to their stunning home for the reception -- tented, catered, and with a swimming pool! Even the grooms were dressed in their best swimwear! What a great day for America!

Two cultures combine in Queens - 22 June 2013

We had to great opportunity to provide lovely piano and string music for a Filipino/Catholic wedding ceremony. Married in the Museum?! - 08 June 2013

Is it summer already? Wow, it got hot! The client decided to celebrate the beginning of summer with a wedding in the glassy lobby of the Brooklyn Museum. We performed a very refined program of classical and baroque pieces to much the guests' enjoyment. The ceremony was a mixture of Jewish and Latino traditions with two unity ceremonies. Never played in a museum before and we've got to say: this one will be hard to beat!

Pizzicato on the pier - 25 May 2013

After days of rainstorms and thunder, we had this early morning wedding right on a pier near the Hudson. It was also our first time taking the ferry over to Weehawken. The venue quite exquisite even though we had to stay indoors for fear of the more rainfall. The ceremony was a mixture of Mandarin and English with classical selections chosen to entertain the guests. But the cocktail hour had "true" classics of Starship, Boston, and Journey!

Highly manor-ific! - 04 May 2013

At the peak of wedding season, we find ourselves at a beautiful mansion in near Yonkers. It was an unusual "Autumn" day, but the outdoor ceremony still looked fresh and inviting. We performed as great program of movie and musical ballads mixed with refined classics. And then we pumped it up for the cocktail hour with a new Britney Spears medley and other upbeat pop hits.

A wedding with the President - 16 February 2013

The season of love! And what a perfect month for a "white wedding." The couple chose a mixture of traditional and pop pieces for their ceremony and cocktail hours. It was a rather quick ceremony -- which the guests seemed to love -- and the cocktail hour was full of so much food and merriment. High-class in NYC - 08 January 2013

Our first wedding of the year and it was spectacular. Located in one the most stunning venues in Manhattan, it was a great night with great people. The couple chose intimate settings and selected traditional and light music. We even got to play with the bride's brother as a quartet! And he was awesome! Goes to show you: you never know who has musical talent :)
