Today we were excited for a traditional/modern Indian wedding performance in Jersey. The venue looked like a palace, with plenty of rooms and outdoor areas for all the guests present. The biggest draw was the traditional groom entrance which everyone was waiting for. We thought he was coming in on an elephant (!) ... but obviously that is a little hard to find in Jersey, so they used a fantasticly decorated horse instead. We've never seen the entire audience wait outside for the groom's procession; it was stunning! The ceremony itself was succinct and included many traditional Islamic elements, but the couple chose a collection of ballads, pop, and bollywood music to entice the crowd. We were really hoping for an elephant, though ...
