A true "Winter Wonderland" - 03 December 2011

We have a lovely opportunity to perform for a great dinner and holiday reception for a client and his friends. It was in a beautiful residence in close to NYC with the loveliest decorations I've ever seen at someone's home! The host had caterers, a full buffet, a Christmas tree for gift giving, and us ... I'm sure the guests felt very important! We played a sample of pieces from all parts of our collection: classical, jazz, broadway, pop, rock, and holiday. It was great getting a chance to play some hip-per music and really get "down and dirty" with a few pieces, LOL. Take a look at the video sample of our Winter Holiday Mix for your party:

Pre-Halloween Freeze!! - 30 October 2011

Pre-HALLOWEEN Wedding! Yay! It was almost time for our favorite holiday and whaddaya know? It's was freezing cold. We mean, FA-reeeeee-zing! We drove out to Cresent Beach with a flute trio (flute, violin, cello). David & Pamela picked a lovely venue with great view of the water. And since it was such a bright and lovely day, they decided to switch things to outdoors. Unfortunately, the wind was high and the temperature was low so we could not play outside. So inside, the innovative maitre'd suggested we play at the door between the outside pier and reception hall. It was better, but still freezing. Thankfully our instruments were safe in the well-heated room!

'A Summer in Iowa' - 16 October 2011

A client contacted us about performing Dvorak's American String Quartet for a seminar/lecture they were hosting - and we were super-excited to comply. It's always nice to play some of our concert repertoire for an audience of keen listeners; really tests all those years of musical training and such. We performed at the beautiful Richter Performing Arts Building in Danbury, CT. The host was very nice and the lecture was very information (all about Dvorak's time in Iowa and his inspiration for writing the piece). The crowd was highly excited for the 3rd movement with the "bird calls" which was the focus on the lecture. It was a great performance with snacks and the end in a very comforting and romantic scenery. Thank's RAA!

'Wishful Thinking' Cabaret - 14 August 2011

If you didn't get a chance to see it, you missed one fantastic show! iconiQuartet presented Wishful Thinking ~ a musical cabaret & charity event benefitting The American Red Cross at TADA! Youth Theater, Sunday, August 14. We contacted favorite musical theatre singers Tracie Franklin (Hairspray Natl. Tour, Ain't Misbehavin'), Trey Mitchell (Wonderful Town Natl. Tour), Andrew Overcash, Chelsea Picken, and Katherine Wright to perform broadway and pop hits about living for our dreams. Our 4-piece ensemble was expanded to a 20-piece "iconiQuestra" chamber orchestra with woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, and strings. We raised over $200.00 and had an audience of 50 guests; its was a great success for our first endeavor. We'd like to thank all the singers, musicians, and guests who helped make WT a great event and start of a New York Tradition!

P.S. If you'd like to have a chamber ensemble for your event, just contact us!

Check-out the opening number composed and arranged by Bobbie Crow! More videos available for viewing at http://www.youtube.com/Bob10318:
