Grooms wed in the park ... restaurant - 20 October 2012

Never been to the High Line before and we must say, it's fabulous. The Park Restaurant is a quaint, vintage restaurant located next to the High Line. It's got a great decor, wonderful staff, and a lovely bar area just fit for intimate weddings. The grooms really created a very special moment as they were married in the only naturally lighted area of the venue and had the guests surround them in a circle. For the cocktail hour, we were inside a romantically lit bar with plush seats available for us to the play. The guests even started dancing to our pop tunes towards the end. Congrats to the newlywed grooms and thanks for a great end to October!

Halloween wedding! - 13 October 2012

On this blistery day, we make our way upstate for an evening wedding. Much to our surprise, we find ourselves in a Renaissance-like venue and all the guests are in costumes! What?! It's a Halloween-themed wedding! How cool! Too bad we didn't know or we would've dressed up too! The two brides had so much fun and their outfits were stunning! We provided some "scary" costumey tunes for the prelude and then some pop and classical songs for the remaining 3 hours. They were ghoulishly generous enough to even feed us! Thank you ladies for our first ever frightful wedding celebration!

Sunset over the water - 06 October 2012

Wedding #2! Now, it starts to rain :( But thankfully this wedding is inside! We play the ceremony upstairs in a lovely room that has a perfect view of the Manhattan skyline. Ah, bliss... It even got lovelier as the sun set and we saw all the lights of the city. But that didn't make the ceremony any less wonderful! For the cocktail we continued down in the restaurant area. The couple choose a very modern set for both hours (no dance music) so the crowd really enjoyed hearing some indie pop and rock tunes string quartet-ized. What a great finish to a tiring day!

Cloudy central park rock - 06 October 2012

First wedding of the day! The weather was looking gloomy and there was a pretty good chance of rain so we were obviously concerned about this outdoor Central park wedding. However, the skies were good to us (and the couple) as the rain held back until late that night! Yay! Summit Rock is a lovely location right on the west side of Central Park. The guests sat on park benches as we sat on a nicely formed rock and played off to the side. The couple choose some favorite for their prelude music and a more traditional set for the ceremony. It was quite beautiful even with the foreboding dark clouds. Off to wedding #2!
