Fall-back to the 80s - 25 October 2014

Our last performance of October ... only a few days before Halloween! So were had to privilege to travel to a neighborhood country club for a post-wedding cocktail hour. The quaint venue was adorned in autumn-themed decorations and colors (think pumpkins and leaves) and the couple selected a "back to the 80s" program of rock and pop hits by The Beatles, Queen, and Eric Clapton. Congrats to The Hendricks!

'Fall'-ing in Love - 18 October 2014

Autumn is quickly coming to a close; so we spend what moments we can outdoors in Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island. There a waterfront restaurant right in the heart of the greenery where we were invited to play for an intimate ceremony. The couple selected an all-pop music program - perfect for our string trio! Congrats to the newlyweds Lisa & Ron!

Autumn Grooming - 13 September 2014

And the second wedding of the day: a gorgeous outdoor celebration for Nick & Ric! Unfortunately, the rain began to pour, but the grooms were well prepared with a tent to cover the entire ceremony and cocktail area! We even shared the stage with Broadway star Linda Eder who gave a rousing rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters." The grooms selected a musical theatre filled program, featuring classics from The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, and The Lion King. Congratulations to the happy couple (and to us for surviving two awesome weddings)!

3-Par on the Course - 13 September 2014

Today is a double-shift starting with a unique trio configuration of soprano, cello, and guitar. We travelled to the lovely Dyker Beach Golf Course for the an outdoor ceremony. Under the threat of rain, our cellist Bobbie, vocalist Kacey Cardin, and guitarist Jeff McLaughlin performed a set of contemporary pieces chosen by the couple; it worked out great! Congrats to Leona & David on their nuptials!

Banking on Love - 31 August 2014

It's Labor Day weekend and we had a stay-cation at Capitale on Bowery. The ornate bank was closed for the special wedding of Dina and Cory and we honored to play some new music for the couple: Handsome Furs, Smashing Pumpkins, and Radiohead. The ceremony itself was quite a production, with moving lights, surround sound, and lots of space for guests and the wedding party. This is the second time we've played for the couple as we were there when Cory first popped the question last year. Congrats to the newlyweds and thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding from beginning to end!

Hitched in a Barn by the Sea - 30 August 2014

The 2-hour trip was worth it for a lovely beach-front wedding. The ceremony was held indoors - but outdoors - in a rustic barn complete with wooden benches and a spiral staircase. Guests were dressed like beach-goers: flip-flops, shorts, sun dresses & glasses - though we played more traditional fare. The highlight of the ceremony was the recessional where the newlyweds, the guests, and us performed Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" in FULL before spilling over to cocktail hour; it was sooo amazing! What great way to end a ceremony. Congrats to Bridget & Chris!
